Fear of heights (Acrophobia) is a natural survival instinct. It is a feeling response to the sensation of height. It is normal to have it but it can also be debilitating when the feelings trigger stress and anxiety.

Fear of heights is a fairly common phobia that affects approximately 12% of the adult population. As previously mentioned, the feeling often manifests itself in people’s daily lives by causing panic attacks or a general state of anxiety when they are confronted with an object or location that triggers the feelings.
